Our Story
In early 2022, Isaiah sparked a new vision—one rooted in a shared love for hip hop. He reached out to longtime friends Mark and Andre with a proposition: start a hip-hop-centered podcast. This wasn’t their first rodeo. Back in 2017, Mark and Andre had dabbled in the podcasting world, covering everything from conspiracy theories to wrestling. Meanwhile, Isaiah had launched his own solo project, The Deep End, tackling politics, sports, and trending news. But beneath all the side quests and creative detours, the three had always shared a core passion: hip hop. Whether freestyling in parking lots or dissecting verses late into the night, the culture had always been their glue. So, the decision to launch a new podcast—That’s Hip Hop—felt more like destiny than a pitch.

From episodes 1 through 40, the trio built something special, but life called Andre in another direction. Luckily, the void didn’t last long. Enter Ali—an old friend from high school and a hip hop head in his own right—who stepped in seamlessly, adding his own flavor and deep knowledge of the culture. What began as a podcast has since evolved into a full-blown multimedia platform. That’s Hip Hop now covers live events, interviews rising artists, and gives a spotlight to voices that deserve to be heard. But at its core, the show’s heart beats strongest when it’s reviewing albums, breaking down cover art, decoding lyrics, and exploring the impact artists leave on the game. It’s not just about talking hip hop—it’s about building bridges between their Inland Empire roots and the global hip hop family.
